In January of 1951, the roof boards were nailed in place and soon shingles were added to seal off the weather.

After two years the bell finally found its way back to the belfry. On August 15, 1951, the bell was hoisted up and, after a few short minutes, Lewis Reynolds rang the bell for all to hear, signifying that the bell had indeed been raised and was home again.

The church reopened for worship in the fall of 1952
