Mrs. Salino became pregnant;
left to have her baby (son) and Ms. Belle B. Beardsley
taught the remainder of the year. I liked the boys; didn’t
like the girls.
My choir background.
There wasn’t transportation to school at that
time! Francis Short carried me on his shoulders when
I became tired. We cut through the farm fields to make
it a shorter walk.
I remember a lot more snowdrifts;
we all climbed over them. School didn’t close
as readily as it does today.
