This picture clearly shows the hand dug canal in the distance that channeled water into the foundation where the water wheel was once mounted.

This picture is the outside of the foundation where the water exited on its way back to the river. In looking at the magnificant stone arch, there is no visible mortar holding the stones in place, yet they have been there for well over 100 years.
